Slept on EL’s couch last night after going to bed at about 5am after the show. Woke up on Independence Day, blogged, emailed, and went to breakfast at Olea in Park Slope with friends. I sent back my egg-white omelette because it was runny and I was worried about getting sick before tour actually kicked off, which is one of the worst things that can happen to you on tour by the way. Despite having to get another omelette, it was still really good. It could possibly be the most beautiful day of the year in Brooklyn, yet. Not too long after we get back, Sean and Chauncey arrived. They slept at Daryl’s. Timmy repacked the van and now we just need Westphal to get this show on the road. We’re waiting for him to show up. EL and I decide to get some margaritas and Mexican, for America. Westphal is there when we get back and we’re finally ready to go. We say goodbye and off we go upstate NY to Cage’s moms house to drop off Kubrick, his dog. There’s an awesome display of fireworks while were there and I was learning how to take pictures of them as you can see below. This whole time our van is not able to go above 50 mph and forget about going uphill. Timmy is smoking like a chimney to keep himself up and Todd Westphal can’t stand it. It’s pretty entertaining. Aside from the running joke about the van not accelerating, “The Persian Zone” is the other one, referring to the zone I aspire to reach when trying to get comfortable enough to fall asleep. The jokes are endless. This is going to be an awesome tour.
