Friend and brother EL-P has just released a statement (press release) earlier of the current status and future hiatus of Definitive Jux Records, a label and a family I have very much been a part of for the majority of my career. It’s pretty clear, and by the same token, clarifies a lot of the rumors/internet chatter.

Here is the post below via Definitivejux.net entitled…

OF HOOPTYS AND HOVERCRAFTS

I haven’t much to say on this at the moment.

this just leaked today…the artwork for DJXP4 (Definitive Jux Presents 4), the newest installment of the Def Jux classic compilation series which will come out on September 1st according to Definitivejux.net. Back in ’02 was the last time I had anything featured on Def Jux exclusively (The Freakshow) and it’s pretty cool that 7 years later I have been given the opportunity to not only have one song featured on it, Gas Galaxy, which was previously leaked last Friday, but two songs to grace the tracklist. The second being a track I did produced by House of Blow (F.Sean Martin & Daryl Palumbo). More to come on that later.
